Oskar Schmidt lives and works currently in Berlin. Recent solo exhibitions include Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Berlin (2017/18); Museum Gunzenhauser Chemnitz (2017); Fotomuseum Winterthur (2016); Neues Museum Weimar (2013/14); Goethe-Institut, Washington D.C. Schmidt received the global cultural exchange stipend by the federal state of Berlin (2018); the grant EHF 2010 by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (2017/18); the PIVÔ Research residency program, São Paulo, Brazil (2017); the FAAP Artistic Residency, São Paulo, Brazil (2017); the Marion Ermer Award (2013); the Scholarship from the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern at Künstlerhaus Lukas, Ahrenshoop (2012) and the C/O Berlin Talents Award (2009). His works are held in both public and private collections.
